Engr. Abdulwahab Yesufu is the founder and Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer of Awimax Energy Limited. A highly experienced EPCIC professional, he has over 15 years of leadership experience delivering major oil and gas infrastructure projects across Nigeria and West Africa.
His vision for Awimax Energy was clear from the outset: to build a Nigerian-owned engineering company capable of delivering world-class EPCIC services — matching international standards in technical quality, project management and HSE — while retaining Nigeria's engineering fee income domestically and building indigenous capacity in the sector.
Engineering Expertise
Engr. Yesufu holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). His engineering specialisation spans LPG plant design and commissioning, petroleum storage and distribution infrastructure, fire protection engineering, and process piping systems.
He has personally led the engineering design and project execution of many of Awimax's flagship projects, including the 40 Million Litre petroleum depot upgrade for Matrix Aida Energy Oil in Warri, the MOB Integrated Services LPG facility, and the 120MT LPG storage plant delivered for an international client in Somalia — Awimax's first international project.
Business Vision
Under Engr. Yesufu's leadership, Awimax Energy has grown from a small engineering consultancy into one of Nigeria's most trusted EPCIC contractors, with a portfolio spanning more than 15 completed petroleum infrastructure projects across 10 Nigerian states and internationally.
He is a passionate advocate for indigenous content and Nigerian engineering, and has been instrumental in creating employment opportunities for Nigerian engineers, technicians and skilled workers through Awimax's projects and its graduate internship programme.
Community & Industry Engagement
Beyond the business, Engr. Yesufu is committed to giving back to the communities in which Awimax operates. He established the Awimax Foundation as the company's corporate social responsibility arm, investing in education, technical skills development and community welfare for young Nigerians in oil and gas producing regions.
